A true entrepreneur, Patrick co-founded Wedgewood Consulting Group, Inc. in 2001 an Inc. 5000 company that posted double-digit annual growth for over a decade before its acquisition in 2012. He went on to found The Leddin Group in 2018 and Disruptive Insights in 2024, understanding firsthand the challenges and triumphs of building something from nothing.
Patrick’s ideas carry weight at the highest levels he’s advised leaders at organizations like 3M, PepsiCo, Walmart, IBM, GE, Samsung, and the U.S. Secret Service, and shared his insights on Fox Business and CNBC. As a FranklinCovey Senior Advisor for 19+ years, his framework even became the foundation for FranklinCovey’s own “Disrupt Everything: Innovate for Impact” course.”
A true partner to Vanderbilt University’s enterprise initiatives, Patrick serves as founder and lead researcher of The Disruption Project a multi-year research effort exploring how individuals and organizations succeed in the face of disruption. He holds a PhD in Strategic & Organizational Communication from the University of Kentucky and has spent 11+ years at Vanderbilt as Associate Professor and Director of the Practice of Business Studies, teaching Corporate Strategy, Negotiation, and Crisis Leadership.
Patrick’s work with The Disruption Project at Vanderbilt built on 350+ interviews with disrupters across industries forms the foundation of Disrupt Everything and Win, his New York Times and USA Today bestseller co-authored with James Patterson. That research now reaches far beyond the page: his Disrupt Everything newsletter goes out twice weekly to nearly 30,000 subscribers, part of a platform of books, podcasts, and keynotes that has put his ideas of positive disruption in front of more than 250,000 people
As a U.S. Army Master Parachutist in the 82nd Airborne Division, Patrick served as a Ranger-qualified infantry officer, Platoon Leader, and Company Commander completing 69 jumps out of military aircraft. That foundation of courage and decision-making under pressure carried directly into his work as a Senior Advisor at KPMG Consulting, and into every stage he’s stood on since.
